Bringing out the blues

September 2, 2015

I just completed this piece today and it is on the wall awaiting quilting. I was inspired by this deep blue fabric I bought from Nancy Crow during my last workshop at "the barn." She was selling some of her own hand dyes and this one called out to me.

I'm finding that the colors I prefer to work with often shift with the music I listen to. What was the music for this one? Let's see... I had some great Billy Holiday and blues classics to start with, alternating with blues rock from Big House, The Tractors, and Susan Tedeschi and the Trucks Band.
